Surfing Southside
It was the first sanctioned event ever to be held at Malabar and the first time the Southside was held there in its 47 year history - a completely unique location and special treat for all who surfed or spectated.
Qualification in 11 divisions decided important State Title berths for surfers young and old. Stand out performers on the day were Wylie Moyes who put back to back wins in the Open Mens division together along with Jake Scott who stepped up an age division to win the very competitive under 18 Boys division after dominating the under 16's for the previous two years. As can happen at Malabar the conditions did deteriorate later in the day on an outgoing tide and local elder Con Paris showed many why he is one of the most respected competition surfers in the area - making the Open Mens final as a 40 year old - a very note worthy performance...

A huge thank you to Paul Moffat co-contest director and coach and mentor to many of the areas finest emerging young athletes in the sport of surfing. And also the incedible support of the team at Surfing New South Wales for contest infastructure - Mark Windon and Sue Duffus both providing direction and assistance to ensure the event maintains its highly proffessional standard.

2010 Regional Titles for surfers in the Southside Region (Bondi to La Perouse beachside areas and the inner city) to establish qualification for the Surfing New South Wales State Titles in Junior. Open and Masters divisions. The State Titles are then a pathway to Australian Titles competition; World ISA Titles in all divisions.
